I began teaching in 2001 at a charter school in Big Rapids, Michigan. My intent was to become, and remain, a high school math teacher. During my six years at Crossroads Charter Academy I gradually transitioned into teaching at the middle school level. In 2007 I transitioned to Elizabeth, Colorado to accept an 8th grade math position with Elizabeth Middle School. I stayed at EMS for five years and in 2012 I was asked to fill the 6th-8th grade math position at Legacy Academy in Elizabeth. After one year with Legacy I received an offer to transition into my current leadership role.
My transition into school leadership has been a challenging, but positive, change. I've enjoyed the various roles that I need to fill and the dynamics of each school day definitely keeps me on my toes. The school board, staff, and families at Legacy Academy have been incredibly supportive of me in my role as the school leader, and I deeply appreciate their encouragement.
