Illness Policy
In accordance with state guidelines, there are certain situations that require children and staff members to stay home. Additionally, we ask that you use good judgment when deciding whether your child should come to school. If you feel they are not going to be able to participate in usual activities, need more care than our staff can give while still caring for the other children, or may be contagious, please err on the side of caution.

Health Services Staff
Our Health Services Office provides health-related services that are vital for student success and safety. This includes immediate care for medical emergencies, injuries and acute health concerns, ongoing health needs of students with chronic conditions.
Our staff also manages health screenings each year and immunization records required by the Colorado Department of Education.
Should your child should stay home?
What if my child gets sick at school?
A sick student MUST be picked up within 30 minutes of the school contacting the parent or a designated adult. The school does not have the space or the staff to keep students who are contagious or unable to participate in the academic program.
Medication Policy & Medical Forms
No child is allowed to keep medication with them unless the office has a completed Self Carry Medication form signed by a physician, the school nurse and parents. The ONLY medications that are allowed to be self carried are a rescue inhaler for asthma and an Epipen for severe allergies, and this ONLY applies to middle school students. All other medications must be dispensed by health office staff in accordance with the district doctor guidelines and require parent approval on file.
