I’ve wanted to be a teacher since I was 8 years old and forced my rambunctious nephews to endure my attempts to teach them to read and write. In college, I discovered an interest in health and got my master’s degree in wellness
management. My favorite job was at a pediatric clinic teaching children and families everything from newborn care to parenting to how to eat healthy and live active lives.
In 2006, I decided to try substitute teaching and was later hired at a private school where I taught first grade. Sadly, that was during an economic downturn and the school went bankrupt. This last school year, I discovered an excellent teacher training program in Denver and was finally able to complete my credential. I now love teaching third grade at Legacy Academy. Not only am I realizing my dream of teaching, I also work with wonderful colleagues, parents and students.
