I was raised in Norco, California. I graduated from the University of California-Riverside with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and earned a California Teaching Credential in Chemistry and Biological Sciences for Pre-K to Early adult education. In California, I taught Biology and Physical Science for ninth and tenth grades and K-5 education. I took a break from full time teaching to substitute teach all grade levels after my children were born.  

   My family and I moved to Colorado from Southern California during the summer of 2015. We absolutely LOVE Colorado and especially the family centered Elizabeth community. I continued my teaching career here at Legacy Academy where I started substitute teaching. After earning my Colorado Teaching License, I took an eighth grade science position at Elizabeth Middle School. Afterwards, I taught five years of fifth grade here at Legacy Academy. This is my second year teaching Middle School Science at Legacy. This is my fifteenth year of full time teaching and my seventh year at Legacy Academy. 

    I have three children who attend/attended Legacy Academy. Bethany is 18 and a recent graduate of Elizabeth High School, class of 2023. Luke is 15 and is in tenth grade at Elizabeth High School. Sarah is 12 years old and is in seventh grade here at Legacy Academy. I spend most of my free time with my family walking our chihuahuas, bike riding, paddle boarding or attending sporting practices and games.

My favorite activities and hobbies are hanging out with my children, bible studies, playing and coaching soccer, watching sports: baseball, football (Go BRONCOS!) soccer and basketball, bike riding, paddle boarding, cooking gluten and dairy free meals, gluten and dairy free baking, gardening, training chihuahuas, researching EVERYTHING, crafting and reading nonfiction books and articles.
